While reading a PDF file, you can enhance your PDF viewing with the following:
- Page Display Mode Settings
- Night Mode
- Text Reflow
- Screen Lock
- Zoom In and Zoom Out Settings
- Crop Mode Settings
- Change the Color of Page Backgrounds and Document Text
Page Display Mode Settings
- On the document pane, tap on the toolbar;
- Choose an option:
- Single: Display one page at a time. You can swipe left or right to navigate through pages.
- Continuous: Display the pages in a continuous vertical column. You can swipe up or down to navigate through pages.
While reading a PDF file, you can change its display mode with the following steps:
Night Mode
Night Mode allows easier reading in low light conditions by inverting black and white in your documents, which helps to relieve eye strain as well as save the device's battery.
To switch to Night Mode:
- On the document pane, tap on the toolbar;
- Slide the Night Mode toggle on.
If you need to switch back to Day Mode, slide the Night Mode toggle off.
Text Reflow
To access the text reflow mode:
- On the document pane, tap on the toolbar;
- Tap Reflow;
In the text reflow mode, change the settings as desired by doing the following:
- Tap to increase the font size;
- Tap to decrease the font size;
- Tap to jump to the previous page;
- Tap to jump to the next page;
- Tap to view outlines and jump to a specific chapter;
- Tap to hide or show all of the pictures in the PDF file.
To exit the text reflow mode:
Tap on the toolbar on the top.
Screen Lock
Screen Lock allows you to lock the screen in portrait or landscape mode to prevent the screen rotating when your device is physically rotated.
To lock the screen:
- On the document pane, tap on the toolbar;
- Scroll down to find more options, and tap Screen Lock;
- Choose one of the options:
- Landscape: Lock the screen in landscape mode;
- Portrait: Lock the screen in portrait mode;
If you need to unlock the screen orientation, tap Screen Lock again, and choose Auto-rotate with screen.
Zoom In and Zoom Out Settings
Zoom In and Zoom Out of the PDF File
Choose one of the following to zoom in or out of the PDF file:
- Use the two-finger pinch gesture;
- Double tap on the screen.
- Designate the volume key as the zoom in/out button by the following steps, and use the volume up/down key to zoom in or out of the PDF file:
- Tap to open the Tool Selector;
- Tap ;
- Tap Volume Key Action under the PDF View group, and select Zoom In/Out.
Keep Zoom Ratio
When reading a PDF file in Single Page mode, Foxit PDF Reader Mobile will keep the zoom ratio by default so that you can view all the pages in the same zoom ratio. If you need to discard the zoom ratio when turn to a new page in Single Page mode, please tap the Setting icon in the Tool Selector, and slide the Keep Zoom Ratio toggle off in the PDF View group.
Crop Mode Settings
Crop mode helps you remove unnecessary document margins and extra white space for a better reading experience.
To crop the document margins:
- On the document pane, tap on the toolbar;
- Tap Crop Mode;
- Do one of the following:
- Choose Automatically crops pages for auto-cropping;
- To crop pages manually, choose Manually crop pages, and do the following:
- Tap to detect the margins, or drag the handle to adjust the crop area.
- By default, Foxit PDF Reader Mobile will apply the cropping to all pages. If you need to cut PDF margins symmetrically between odd and even pages, tap , and choose Crop pages symmetrically.
- When confirmed, tap to apply the setting. You can tap to cancel cropping before applying the setting.
To restore the cropped margins, tap Crop Mode again, and choose Remove all page cropping.
Change the Color of Page Backgrounds and Document Text
While reading a PDF file, you can change the color of page backgrounds and document text to get a better reading experience. Steps are as follow:
- On the document page, tap on the toolbar;
- Tap Page Color, and choose a color from the pre-set list.
