How to extract a specified picture in PDF document as a separate image file

 

Foxit PhantomPDF provides some different methods for users to export a specified image in PDF document to a separate image file. Following is an introduction to these methods.

 

Use Select Text and Image tool to export image

To use Select Text and Image tool to export image, please do the following:

  1. Select the Select Text and Image tool by choosing Home > Select>Select Text and Image.

  2. Single click on the specified image you want export in PDF file to make it to be selected. The selected image will be highlighted in blue. Then right-click the selected image, choose Export Image As… in pop-up context menu.

  3. In the pop-up Save As dialog box, choose the file format you want to export to, and specify the filename and location.

  4. Click Save.

Note:

This method applies to Foxit PhantomPDF 9.2 and greater versions.

 

Use Edit object tool to enter into image editor mode to extract image

To use edit object tool to export an image, please do the following:

  1. Go to Edit tab in Foxit PhantomPDF, click on Edit Object> Image.

  2. Double click on an image you want export in PDF file to enter into Image Editor mode in Foxit PhantomPDF.

  3. Click on Save as Image button under Image tab.

  4. In the pop-up Save As dialog box, please specify the filename and location.

  5. Click Save.

Note:

This method is only available in Business edition of Foxit PhantomPDF.


Use Export All images feature under Convert tab to export image

To use Export All images feature in Foxit PhantomPDF to export image, please do the following:

  1. Go to Convert tab in Foxit PhantomPDF, click on Export All Images to bring out Export All Images dialog box.

  2. Please select Pages: this option under Export Images from which pages . In the Pages: box, please manually input the page number of the PDF page where the specified picture is located, then click on OK.

  3. In the pop-up Save As dialog box, choose the file format you want to export to, and specify the filename and location.

  4. Click Save to export images. All of images on the page you specify would be exported into some separated image files, so you need to select the picture you want from those exported image files.

Use Snapshot tool to save a screenshot of image as an image file

To use Snapshot tool to save a screenshot of image as an image file, please do the following:

  1. Select the Snapshot tool by choosing Home > Snapshot. The cursor changes into a Cross automatically.

  2. Click and drag the mouse to draw a rectangle around the image you want to extract. You will be prompted that the selected area has been copied to the clipboard.

  3. Right-click the selected area, and then choose Copy Select Graphic.

    Click on the Start button on windows taskbar, All Programs>Accessories>Paint to open Microsoft paint tool which is a basic graphics program included in Windows Operating system , hold the Ctrl key and press V on keyboard to insert the selected image into the MS Paint, and then click on File>Save in MS paint to save image in MS Paint as a separate image file.

Note:
